Avissawella Scouts, an active branch operating under the direct guidance of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, is a dynamic scout group rooted in the proud historical heritage of the region. Our core mission is to strictly uphold the noble values and promises of the Scouting movement, thereby nurturing a disciplined, skilled, and socially responsible youth generation capable of conquering tomorrow's world. To achieve this, we continuously organize structured leadership training programs, diverse outdoor activities such as camping and expeditions, and numerous voluntary community service projects aimed at societal well-being. Through these initiatives, Avissawella Scouts remains deeply committed to fostering both the physical and mental well-being of young people, while instilling practical life skills and exemplary leadership qualities that empower them to face any challenge with resilience.
Scouting is a global, voluntary, non-political educational movement that provides a proven framework for character development and responsible citizenship through practical, outdoor, and adventure-based learning. It is fundamentally important because it teaches young people self-reliance, leadership, and teamwork through its unique Promise and Law and the Patrol System, ensuring they gain the essential life skills and moral compass needed to become active, capable, and ethical contributors to their local and global communities.
